Every Clarissa jewel begins with an idea — a creative intuition that takes shape on paper through a freehand sketch. This is the first step in a journey guided by experience, passion, and artisanal care.

From the drawing, a gold prototype is crafted in our workshop, following the lines of the original design. Only when the result fully reflects the initial vision is the model ready to move forward and become a finished jewel.

The prototype is then divided into its individual elements — in the case of a ring, the band and decorative parts — each of which is used to create a mold. Molten wax is injected into these molds to reproduce each component in multiple copies. The resulting wax pieces are assembled to form what is known as the casting tree.

The casting tree is placed inside a cylinder filled with plaster and heated in a furnace at a temperature below 800°C. During this process, the wax melts completely, leaving behind an empty mold ready to receive the gold.

At this stage, the casting begins. The 18kt gold alloy is melted in a crucible and, through centrifugal force, poured into the mold, giving shape to the individual components of the jewel.

Once cooled, the casting tree is dismantled: each piece is separated, assembled, soldered, and polished by skilled goldsmiths. The jewel is then passed on to the stone setter, who carefully sets the precious stones, enhancing their brilliance and beauty.

In the final stage, the jewel is polished once again and cleaned in an ultrasonic bath to remove any residues from the crafting process. Finally, it is rhodium-plated, giving the surface a flawless shine and long-lasting protection.

This is how a Clarissa jewel is born: a perfect balance of goldsmithing tradition, technology, and design, entirely handmade in accordance with true Made in Italy craftsmanship.
